Are you feeling it yet? That urge everyone gets around this time of year… No, not the urge to sneeze due to the pollen – the urge to spring clean! You may already be elbow deep in scrubbing solution at home, but have you thought about giving the office a spring cleaning? Here are a few areas that you don’t want to forget to clean!
This Spring, Don’t Forget to Clean…
Finger Tapping Gross
Your desk and surface spaces probably get a quick dust on a regular basis, but have you thought about the other areas that you touch regularly? Your keyboard and phone come in contact with a lot of germs – and perhaps a bit of food and drink – as you are brilliantly crafting agendas and having dazzlingly genius phone meetings. All that tap tapping leads to quite a bit of, well, grossness. Be sure to take a bit of extra time to clean your electronics with a special cleaner. And maybe, keep your coffee cup a little further away from the keyboard in the future… Just saying…
You’ve Got to Move It
You know the “World’s Best Dad” mug that’s been sitting on your desk gathering dust for months years? Or the potted plant in the corner? Or the piles of paper on, let’s face it, every flat surface in a 5 mile radius? Yeah… You have to move that stuff to get things really clean. I mean, like pick it up, put it in another spot, clean, and then put it back! Hey, they don’t call cleaning “back-breaking work” for nothing!
Trash Cans and Desk Drawers and Cabinets, Oh My
The spaces we most forget to clean are the ones that we use to contain all our stuff. When was the last time you wiped out your trash can? Even with a trash bag, that hard-working guy can get pretty grimy. How about your desk drawers and cabinets? It’s a good idea to pull everything out give it a good wipe down and sort your supplies back in. You could even take this chance to toss items you haven’t used in the last year. Go ahead, give it a try! Consider purging a chance for personal growth if nothing else. You can do it!
