Work can be a stressful place. Rather than wringing the neck of your co-worker or screaming at your boss (we highly recommend avoiding those), try using some relaxation techniques. Here are 4 ways to relieve stress at the office!
4 Ways to Relieve Stress at the Office
Soothe And Groove
When you feel your blood pressure rising, try turning on some soothing music. Practice a bit of deep breathing to the slow beat. Just don’t relax so much that you fall asleep – that won’t look good on your next performance evaluation. You could also try listening to angry, high-tempo music as a cathartic release!
Walk it Off
Sometimes it’s best to walk away from a stressful situation. Get up and take a few laps away from the tasks, or people, that are getting on your last nerve. You’ll de-stress and up your daily step total at the same time. It’s a win-win!
Take a Break
Clear your head with a warm drink. Whether you prefer coffee, tea or a cup of hot cocoa, cool off with a warm drink. You might even find that once your head clears, you have a few new approaches to the situation that’s bothering you.
Burst a Bubble
If you find yourself wanting to throttle someone, squeeze some bubble wrap rather than their neck. In fact, you could lock yourself in your office, layout some bubble wrap on the floor and stomp/jump/throw a tantrum on it. Trust me, bubble wrap can be strangely cathartic. If anyone asks, you’re just packing some important boxes for shipping.
